WHAT: A kickball tournament benefitting The Periwinkle Foundation
WHEN: Saturday, November 4, 2017
WHERE: Houston Sportsplex
WHY: Kicking to support Periwinkle Camps, Arts & Survivor Programs for children, teens and families affected by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and being treated at Texas Children's Hospital
The Periwinkle Kickball Classic is a one-day tournament, held on November 4, 2017, at the Houston SportsPlex. This event involves teams of at least 10 players (minimum 5 females) rallying together to raise funds while kicking to improve the lives of those affected by cancer. ANYONE ages 14 and older is eligible to play, and teams are encouraged to recruit as many team members as they want to help fundraise, and, ultimately, help their team make it through the tournament. To enter the tournament, each team must raise a minimum of $500.
As a new addition this year, we will have a "Just for Fun" division, where your team will play in three games in the morning and will not have to participate in the playoffs in the afternoon. For those more competitive teams, there will be an "In It to Win It" division, where teams will participate in a multi-game tournament (each team is guaranteed 3 games). Concessions and other activities will be open throughout the day with fun for the entire family.
Proceeds from this event enable The Periwinkle Foundation to provide healing programs and camps that positively change the lives of children, young adults and families who are challenged by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
The Kickball Classic is hosted by the Friends of Periwinkle, our membership organization of passionate volunteers. Their mission is to enrich the lives of children, young adults and families challenged by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and are cared for at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Round up your best kickers and sign up for a team today! It is going to be one unforgettable fun day!
